Kathmandu University is proudly hosting this years STAR Global Conference, the signature annual global event of the STAR Scholars Network. The 2024 STAR Global Conference, themed “Engaging Communities, Leaders, and Practitioners: Advancing Transformative Research and Education,” creates a platform where academia converges with praxis to advance education and research for social change on a global scale.
Conference Theme
The 2024 STAR Global Conference theme is Engaging Communities, Leaders, and Practitioners: Advancing Transformative Research and Education. It aims to delve into the cultural, epistemological, and institutional challenges and opportunities encountered by educational researchers and practitioners who seek to make transformative impacts and changes. Furthermore, it seeks to explore a paradigm shift in educational approaches and contemplate the future trajectory of transformative education through transnational research. Participants from various disciplines all over the world are encouraged to submit the proposal to the conference to critically explore possibilities for transformative impacts of research on educational change and social impact and/or examine discriminatory and disempowering policies and practices hindering education and research, particularly in addressing emerging complexities across humane, social, economic, political, ecological, and spiritual spheres.

The 2024 STAR Global Conference offers a diverse program featuring keynotes, plenaries, paper presentations, panel discussions, workshops, arts-based performances, and a book talk series to showcase progress and to contemplate on a wide range of issues from social change to impending environmental crisis. Virtual Graduate Student Sessions
The STAR Scholars Network is pleased to announce the upcoming STAR Global Conference 2024 at Kathmandu University, Nepal,
from December 8th to 14th (8-11 virtual and 12-14 in person).
The conference theme is “Engaging Communities, Leaders, and Practitioners: Advancing Transformative Research and Education.“
A virtual “Graduate Student Research Session” is scheduled for December 11th, 2024, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am Eastern Standard Time (6:45 pm Nepal Time). We warmly invite all graduate students to present one of their research projects in 10 minutes (whether published or unpublished) during this session. Doctoral candidates will have the chance to present their thesis or dissertation proposals. Every presenter will receive a certificate, and four participants will be honored with the “Best Research Certificate.” Independent evaluators (senior faculty members) will evaluate each presentation utilizing the following rubric:

Submission Guidelines:
Submit your abstract by November 1, 2024, via uddinsm@gmail.com. Include your full name, university name, university email, and your program’s name with your abstract.
Abstract evaluation and participant selection by November 15, 2024.
